The technological advances of the 21st century are bringing robotics to all domains of society. Robotic rehabilitation is a growing and advanced method especially for treating neurological conditions. Robots for Neuro-rehabilitation are designed to support the physical exercises to the upper or lower extremities, with the purpose of promoting Neuro motor recovery. Use of robotics in rehabilitation can benefit various neurological condition including Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Domains of robotics: 1.Clinical robotics- for diagnosis and cure. 2. Assistive robotics- for assistive help.

Gait abnormalities following neurological disorders are often disabling, negatively affecting patients’ quality of life. Therefore, regaining of walking is one of the primary aim of the rehabilitation process. In current clinical practice the gait restoration with robotics device is an integral part of rehabilitation program. Robotic devices for gait rehabilitation are divided into different categories: powered overground exoskeletons, body weight-supported treadmill (BWST) exoskeleton devices, and end-effector devices.

Persons with neurological disorder may be affected with cognitive impairment. Robotics rehabilitation is an opportunity to improve cognitive function in subjects with neurological disorders.

Robotics device play important role in neuro-rehabilitation but it is not affordable to all and lack of operational and technological knowledge and anxiety of patients for machine can be a negative factor in robotic therapy.
